Its amazing working in a virtual community! I saw a message that Matt would be a guest on Radio Essex so I went to find it on the web. I could hear Matt on the programme, answering questions about mp3 players, virtual memory and types of CD. I could almost see Matt on the station's web cam.

I sent a text to the radio station asking if Matt could move a bit and my message was read out, which prompted a Skype message from Lydia, listening in Stoke. We both decided to keep BBC Radio Essex on for the afternoon, as it made us feel a bit closer to the rest of the team at Ultralab in Chelmsford. Lydia and I are sort of doing something together - listening to the same radio station - while working at our desks in Stoke and Flint. Working in a virtual team is different every day!
