Downloads and tech stuff

Not only have I had to deal with downloading an 80 Mb file for assessment (not to mention a few other biggies, but this was the largest) but I have had to do some other downloads. Although I tried to ignore it, I have had to update Sophos in case any of the assessment files have viruses. And now I need to download an update to Stuffit as it won't behave itself with all the new assessment files. I upgraded my version of Microsoft Office, although the Mac version won't yet read docx files, which are not backwards compatible with other Microsoft products (thanks, Microsoft). Meanwhile there has also been a Firefox upgrade.

And all this has to be done before I can get down to the bulk of my marking. Three different modules. At least it is interesting.

I wonder if the team could agree on guidance for a maximum individual file size for assessment products. My suggestion would be 20 Mb, which would make uploads/downloads/file transfers easier both for students and staff.
